A Story about Binga

This is a story about Binga, whom has been part of my husbands family since way before he was born and he is now 40+.

I had the privilege of experiencing Binga’s bounteous personality for 10 years.

I just have to share this story with whom ever have a moment to read.

I laughed, i wept, and i just realised how thankful we all have to be for every single person who cross our life path.

The farmers wife – Introductions

 

 

Introductions:

I am the wife of The Farmer who gives his recording of the process in moving our suburbian footprint to a little farm just outside of town.

The Farmer is a very good student of anything new, a fast learner, excellent planner, love the outdoors, been wanting to live on a farm ever since I have know him, and is very much an optimist.  He does not acknowledge the words “can’t do”, but celebrate the words “let’s do”. He is my rock!

I on the other hand, learn by practical experience, and never take my own advice “if all else fails, read the manual”. I am good with keeping the paperwork together, and do not necessarely like dirty hands (but hey that is why there is garden gloves.) I worked on a farm in the UK in my student years and loved every moment of it.

We are both looking forward to this process of relocating our footprint. It is not often that anybody is afforded the opportunity to start with a blank canvas on agricultural land. We are fortunate to be able to do that. It is our intention to go off the grid as far as possible. For the first time ever we are able to build our dreamhouse, with a solar energy system and rain water storage. We are going to try and be as eco friendly as possible with building material. It all might sound very optimistic, and yes, it may be, but you will never know until you try, only by trying will you realise success or failure. We will gather knowledgeable people into our circle to give advice and lead us. We are always open for new ideas and advice.

As you know woman are from Venus and men are from Mars, and I quote “women complain about problems because they want their problems to be acknowledged, while men complain about problems because they are asking for solutions.” and so are the differences between women and men’s point systems and how they react under stress, and stress there will surely be, before and after we move to the farm.

Most importantly,  we are a team, have always been a team, and our team is ready to make this move. I will be documenting my side of the process. It might be very interesting to see how differenlty we experience the same process.

Head on back every now and again for an update. This will be a slow process, but we aim to move by middle 2010. Just in time to escape the rate race of the 2010 soccer world cup.
